In the series many types of 'monsters' or 'supernatural creatures' are introduced, but each type has a weakness,strength or can do certain things.
Original Vampires
Strengths
- Super strength- Original vampires are much stronger than other vampires, werewolves, non-original hybrids and humans. They are able to decapitate other species
with a single chop and shatter windows and doors with small objects.
- super speed- orignal vampires are much faster than regular vampires,werewolves,non-original Hybrids, and humans. they are able to stop other supernatural species
in their tracks and run miles in mere minutes.
- super senses-Originals have super keen senses of hearing,sight and smell that far exceed those of humans,non-original vampires, non-original Hybrids and
werewolves.
- super agility-they can move,jump,climb, and run incredibly fast without difficulty or exhaustion
- Super healing- The injuries of original vampires heal faster than those of other vampires, werewolves,humans and non-original hybrids. Original vampires seem to
heal extremely quickly when exposed to vervain or wood.
- super duribility-Original Vampires can take far more trauma than a regular vampire,werewolves,hybrids and humans can without much discomfort or injury.
wood seems to be innafective at weakening them.
- Mind Compulsion - Originals can compel the minds of humans, vampires, and hybrids.
- Immortality- Originals do not physically age, they are immune to all forms of illnesses, toxins or poisons, they don't need to eat, drink,
or breath, they have eternal youth and flawless smooth skin.
- Dream manipulation- Original Vampires can control dreams and subconcious.The vampires can produce and modify dreams,bestow nightmares, or lucid dreaming. Other
effects of this ability is the distortion of reality and trapped in dreams.
- Emotional Control- Vampires have a limited degree of control over their own emotions allowing them to switch off their humanity(not caring who they kill) to make
killing easier.

- Vervain Detection - They able to detect when vampires and humans are on vervain.
White oak Stake- The only physical weapon that can permanently kill Klaus, It comes from an Ancient White Oak tree during the time of the
genesis of The Originals. It was at first thought that the stake used to kill Mikael was the last white oak wood in existence, but it was
soon discovered by Rebekah and Klaus that there was a Sapling of the original tree to replace the old.
Majic- If a witch has enough magical power at their disposal,they can harm or even kill an orginal.
White Oak Ash Dagger- An Enchanted silver dagger dipped in the ash of the white oak tree will kill an original but only as long as the dagger remains in their
heart.they will however also kill any vampire that weilds(kills) them.
Stakes- A wooden stake through the heart will incapitate an original for a short period of time.
Sunlight- Sunlight will burn an original but cannont kill them. All members of the original Family possess lapis lazuli rings to combat this.
Vervain- Vervain prevents compulsion by originals and burns them on touch. Originals heal very quickly from Vervain wounds.
Uninvited invitation- in order to enter any house owned byt humans, they need to be invited by a person that officially lives ther or the person of entitlement.
Once invited the vampire cannot be uninvited. if a vampire lives in a house, other vampires can enter freely and if a vampire is in the house without being invited
in, it will become disoriented and will begin to suffocate.
Desiccation- being completely drained of blood or the heart stopping will cause an original vampire to desiccate like any other vampire, lose most of its
strength and ability to move. this process can be replicated artifically by stopping a human's heart, a witch is capable of stopping the original's one if a physical
connection to the vampires heart is made and the user had ingested a witch's blood. its unknown if an original would disiccate if their heart was torn out.
Esther - Klaus mentions in Bringing Out The Dead that Esther can kill him. Her knowledge of the spell that created vampires and thus ability
to reverse it could be the deciding factor in this.

Vampire Bloodline- if you were to kill an original, their entire bloodline would die.(ex. unknown mikaelson changed Mary Porter. She changed Rose, then Rose
Change Kathrine. Kathrine Changed Damon and Stefan, Damon Changed Abby, and Caroline. if that original was to die, everyone that was listed
would die too.)
Vampires
Strengths
- Super Strength - Vampires are much stronger than humans and grow stronger with time. Even new vampires who are still in transition can
toss a fully grown human across a room with great speed and force. Their strength is also more powerful then werewolves that are not in wolf form.
- Super Speed - Vampires can accelerate their movements to cover short distances in an instant, faster than the human eye can see.
When running across long distances, they appear as vibrating blurs of motion.
- Emotional Control - The supernatural ability to control and manipulate the emotions of one's self, and can turn on and off emotions and
humanity.
- Heightened Senses - They can hear whispered conversations, even ones in far off buildings, smell blood, and see in total darkness.
- Mind Compulsion - Vampires have the ability to control minds, plague people's dreams, and alter/erase human memories.
- Immortality - A vampire stops aging once turned. Upon their transformation, vampires then on become immune to all conventional illness,
disease, virus and infection. The only known disease or infection that can kill a vampire is a werewolf bite.
- Healing Factor - Vampires heal extremely quickly, but still feel the pain of a wound before it heals. The only injury they cannot be cure
from is a werewolf bite.
- Lapis Lazuli - if the vampire possesses a Lapis Lazuli ring that enables them to walk in daylight
without being harmed.
Weaknesses.
- Vervain - When ingested, vervain causes a vampire to become severely weak and feverish. Also, If a vampire's skin is exposed to vervain,
it can result in burning them.
- Wood - If a vampire is wounded by wood it will cause the vampire to become severely weak and if a vampire takes a wooden stake through its
heart it will result in death.
- Fire or Sunlight(unless they have a ring) - Any exposure to fire or sunlight(unless they have a ring) will result in death to a vampire.
- Heart Extraction - The act of removing a vampire's heart will result in death.
- Werewolf Bite - The bite of a werewolf is extremely lethal to normal vampires.
- Magic - Witches are able to give supernatural aneurysms that cause the blood vessels of vampires to explode.
- Decapitation - The act of dismembering or removing the head of a vampire will result in death.
- Uninvited Invitation - Vampires cannot enter a house without being invited in. If they are in the house without being invited in
they will become disoriented.
Witches

- Channeling: The act of drawing extra forms of energy by focusing on celestial events.
- Conjuration: The act of calling, commanding, or summoning a certain object, person, and/or spirit already in existence.
- Elemental Control: The act of controlling and manipulating the elements of air, earth, fire, water, and weather.
- Mediumship: The act of calling, communicating, and invoking the spirits of the dead.
- Precognition: The act of foreseeing both future and past events by natural viewing.
- Spell Casting: The act of changing and/or controlling events through the use of charms, hexes, rituals, etc.
- Telekinesis: The act of controlling and manipulating the movements of objects and persons by mental influence.
- Witches Brew: The act of brewing and concocting paranormal potions that contain supernatural properties
Weaknesses
- Fear: A distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the condition or feeling
of being afraid could cause a witch to temporarily lose their powers.
- Mortality: Based off the fact that witches are still human, they share many of the same weaknesses as non-supernatural beings (e.g. age,
decapitation, disease, heart-failure, suffocation, etc.)
- Overuse Of Magic: The excessive use of magic could lead a witch to death from over-exertion.
Petrova Doppelgangers
abilities
- Doppelgangers Blood: The blood of the doppelganger can link supernatural beings (vampires, werewolves, witches and hybrids) to kinship with
the help of magic conducted by a witch/warlock. The blood of a doppelganger can also be used in the realization of a curse or spell which is
extremely powerful.
myths
- In some traditions, when a doppelgänger is seen by a person's friends or relatives, the contact prophesies illness or danger, while a
person seeing their own doppelgänger is an omen of death.
- In other traditions or legends, a doppelgänger is connected with the person copied; sometimes causing the feelings of injuries between the
original and the doppelganger. For example, if the doppelganger is injured, the other person will also be hurt or feel pain
Werewolves
Strengths
- Super Strength - Werewolves are much stronger than any human. They are not as strong as a vampire whilst in human form but when it is a
full moon they are more powerful than Non-Original Vampires. Rose, a 560 vampire was knocked down and over-powered by the fully transformed
werewolf Jules. Another case was when Damon Salvatore, a 171 vampire could barely hold off the transforming newborn werewolf, Tyler
Lockwood.
- Super Speed - Werewolves are extremely faster than any human and non-Original vampire. Werewolves can use this ability in either Human or wolf
form. Under the full moon, Werewolves can use their speed in wolf form to even swiftly chase down Vampires.
- Super Agility - Werewolves possess superhuman agility. They can move, jump, climb, and run incredibly fast without difficulty or
exhaustion.
- Super Durability - Werewolves can take far more trauma than Humans can without much discomfort or injury. they can also exert themselves
without much tire.
- Healing Factor - Werewolves possess superhuman regenerative abilities, meaning if ever injured, their bodies will heal near instantaneously.
Werewolves have also been said to heal exactly as fast as vampires. Even in human form.
- Lie Detection- Werewolves are able to sense if you're lying or not.
- Super Senses - Werewolves have the extremely keen senses of smell, sight, taste, and hearing inherent in all canines.
- Werewolf Bite - The bite of a Werewolf is extremely lethal to normal Vampires but not to an Original.
- Anger - When a Werewolf is furious, their anger increase all their powers and abilities for a short period of time, as well as can have an
advantage over a Vampire.
- Full Moon - Werewolves' powers and abilities are enhanced and are at their peak during a full moon.
- Shapeshifting - During a full moon, they will unwillingly turn into wolves.

- Broken Neck: By breaking a werewolf's neck, it results in instant death.
- Wolfsbane - When ingested, wolfsbane causes a werewolf to become severely weak and feverish. Although,If a werewolf's skin is exposed to wolfsbane, it will result in burning them
- Gilbert Device - Invented by Jonathan Gilbert (Enchanted by Emily Bennett), the Device was a weapon designed to emit a high-frequency
noise that could only be heard by vampires and werewolves.
- Magic - Witches are able to curse and inflict supernaturals aneurysms that cause the blood vessels of werewolves to explode.
- Heart-Extraction - If a werewolves' heart is ripped out, it will cause instant death.
Hybrids
Strengths
- Super strength- Hybrids are stronger than werewolves or vampires,but because of their vampire and werewolf heritage their abilities get stronger with age just like vampires
and werewolves. their wolf form will boost their power due to the werewolf side.
- super speed- Hybrid's intensified quickness,agility,reflexes,and endurance makes them faster than any werewolf or vampires. hybrids can use this ability in human or werewolf form.
- super agility- Hybrids possess superhuman agility. they can move,jump, climb and run incredibly fast without difficulty or exhaustion.
- super senses- Hybrid's have superior sight,hearing,smell,taste, and any other senses.
- super durability- hybrids can take a lot of trauma and never get tired or fatigued.
- super healing- hybrids have the combined healing capabilities of both Vampire's and Werewolves
- mind compulsion- A hybrid can compel the minds of humans, they cannot compel anyone on vervain though, or any other creature, except for klaus who can compel vampires.
- immortality- Like Vampires a hybrid stops aging the moment they transition.
- dream manipulation- hybrids can control dreams and subconsious like vampires.
- emotional control- Due to their vampire heritage,hybrids are able to exert certain control over their own emotions e.g they can turn off their humanity
- werewolf bite- due to their werewolf heritage, a hybrid has a bite which is fatal to vampires, but the hybrid bite takes effect quicker than a normal werewolf bite.

- petrova Doppelganger blood- Drinking the blood of the petrova doppelganger will complete the transition from werewolf to hybrid.
- transformation control- Hybrids have the ability to shapeshift/transform at will and anytime they desire. like werewolves they still have no control over their actions in wolf form.
- Lycanthrope enhancement- hybrids are capable of showing its wolf-eyes when displaying its abilities
- Due to their werewolf heritage,hybrids are able to move around during the day and in the sun without the use of a sun ring.

in order to break the bond ther hybrid must phase on their own approx. 100 times.
- vervain- Hybrids are affected by vervain like their vampire counterparts and can't compel anyone on vervain.
- wolfsbane- hybrids are affected by wolfsbane like their werewolf counterparts.
- uninvited invitation- due to their vampire heritage,hybrids are unable to enter a home without an invitation
- magic- Witches are able to give them supernatural aneurysms that cause the blood vessels of non-original hybrids to explode. it can also kill them as well.
- gilbert Device- a hybrid can be affected by the gilbert device.
- vampire bloodline- if klaus dies, than all the hybrids will die alone with him.
Vervain
Vervain can protect someone from compulsion of vampires.
if its on or in that person they cannot be compelled. it can be very toxic to vampires if they were
injected with it.
Gilbert Device.
The Gilbert Device was made by Johnathan Gilbert and was secretly enchanted by Emily Bennett to make
it work, which was unknown to Johnathan Gilbert. Most people believe that he invented it. The device is a weapon against vampires and when it's
activated any vampire within a 5 blocks radius will be incapacitated. When activated, the device would cause extreme pain on vampires and
werewolves by emitting a very high sonic pitch beyond the hearing of humans
